If you don’t recognize this face, it is the Joker tile in the game Rummikub. Ariana has taken it and turned it into the face of the sun. She used the colors from the other game tiles to give it a 3D look.

Alexander was the name of Ariana’s grandfather who passed away many years ago. Even though he lived in Spain and she did not see him frequently, her trips to visit him as a child have always stayed vivid in her mind. They would spend hours at a time sitting at the dining room table playing Rummikub and laughing together. This piece was made as a gift for her dad.
